Carrying on the tradition started by his grandfather, Michael Martini has crafted a wonderful wine. A nose that givve you hints of casis and a firm palate with flavors of brambley, dark berry fruit. The finish lingers on for a long, complex finish. Enjoy this now, or lay it down for a couple of years!
CLINE ROSE OF MOURVEDRE - Current Price: $14.99
The cline 2006 Mourvedre rose' is a wonderful, award winning wine. And, it's organic! Cline has long been a favorite winery of wine and this is no exception. It's lightly dry with hints of raspberry in the nose and a touch of fresh strawberries and clove on the pallate. This would be wonderful with smoked turkey.
Clos De Malte Lalande-De-Pomerol - Current Price: $24.99
This Bordeaux from the 2004 vintage is a great example of what merlot can be. We recently got everything the distributor had. When it's gone, we'll only be able to dream about what we missed. Unexpectedly rich and full bodied, with great fruit. Predominately merlot, with some cabernet franc. This wine shone when I had it with oven roasted prime rib that had been seasoned with garlic and fresh cracked pepper.
OPOLO MOUNTAIN ZINFANDEL - Current Price: $24.99
A big, huge, full bodied zin. This is not your grandmothers zin. It has a nice backbone of spice and black cherry balanced by good acidity. Great now, put this in your cellar for a couple of years and be amazed.
Domaine Pichot Vouvray Le Peu de la Moriette - Current Price: $15.99
"Summertime and the livin' is easy..." Okay, so it's not quite summer, at least not yet. When it is the Pichot Vouvray is one that should be in your cellar. It's off dry, with great depth and hints of pear, white peach. This is just wonderful wine!
